Upon arrival at Hadiboh International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our local Socotri guide who will drive you straight to Socotra’s most iconic spot: Detwah Lagoon.
On the way, we’ll stop for a quick photo by the old tank and take in the view of a massive crater. This crater was formed by a meteor strike long ago, and today it serves a new purpose as a working salt production site.
As you reach Detwah, your driver will lead you up a rough hillside path to a panoramic viewpoint. From the top, you’ll witness a sweeping view of the lagoon below. White sand stretches along turquoise waters, wrapped in a calm that feels almost unreal. It is no wonder this is one of the most photographed spots on the island.
Once at the campsite, our expert chef will welcome you with your first freshly prepared lunch at Detwah, a perfect introduction to the flavors of the island.
After lunch, you will Visit the legendary Cave Man (Aliyah) in the very cave where he was born. He’ll take you on a short personal tour through the lagoon, sharing stories and secrets only a local can offer.
